[Notice: 2026 Spring Semester Combined Master's-Doctoral Program Entrance Examination for Doctoral Candidacy Schedule]

※ Eligibility for this examination is limited to students who were admitted to and are currently enrolled in the Combined Master's-Doctoral Program. (Students who switched from a Master's program to the Combined Program are NOT eligible.)

② Registration of Exam Setters/Graders [Department Head]

After the student applies online, the department head registers the exam setters/graders via the system.

Passing score: 70 or above in each subject

2. Eligibility for the Examination

Eligible Candidates & Requirements

1. Eligible candidates: Students currently enrolled in the Combined Master's-Doctoral Program

2. Application requirements:

a. Completion of 3 semesters (2 semesters for students who completed the Undergraduate-Master's Linked Program)

b. Completion of at least 24 credits

c. Overall GPA of 4.0 or above

 

3. Voluntary Withdrawal from the Combined Program

Students wishing to withdraw from the Combined Program may submit a withdrawal application after completing 3 semesters as a Master's student (2 semesters for students who completed the Undergraduate-Master's Linked Program).

Withdrawal form: (Attached) Withdrawal Application Form, signed/sealed by the department head and academic advisor

Submission method: Email to the Graduate School (grad@chosun.ac.kr), subject line: "2026 Spring Semester Doctoral Candidacy Exam Withdrawal Application"

Students who do not meet eligibility requirements will be notified by text message after final grades for the current semester are confirmed (expected July 6–7, 2026); they are excluded from withdrawal form submission and will instead be transferred to the Master's program

Registration of Exam Setters/Graders [Department Head]

Registration period: July 13 (Mon) – July 17 (Fri), 2026

Exam Subjects and Scope

Subjects: 3 major courses completed within the student's department

Maximum of 2 subjects may be assigned per faculty member

Duration: 50 minutes per subject

Scope: Questions assessing knowledge and competency in the major field and research methodology

Exam Administration & Submission of Results [Department & Department Head]

Period: July 21 (Tue) – July 28 (Tue), 2026

After the application period ends, the Graduate School provides the question sheets and grading sheets by email; the exam is administered by the department under the department head's supervision

Passing score: 70 points or above (out of 100) in each subject

Date: July 31 (Fri), 2026 (scheduled)

How to check: Log in to the Comprehensive Information System → Academic Records → Personal Information Management → Qualifying Exams/Thesis → Check Comprehensive Exam Results

Notes

Students who fail (including those who submit a withdrawal form or fail to meet eligibility requirements) will be transferred to the Master's program and awarded a Master's degree upon fulfilling degree requirements.

Any matters not specified in this notice shall be governed by the "Regulations on the Combined and Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs."
